Baby #2

I am so excited about being an aunt again!  I can't wait to meet this little nugget and find out if it is a boy or a girl!  I can't stand the anticipation and I really don't know how Mark and Emily don't find out until the baby is born.  I have to say that it was SO exciting when Mark came out and told us all it was a girl and her name, but I just don't think Chris and I will be able to wait when our time comes.  Scratch that, I'm positive that Chris and I won't be able to wait!  Anyway, back to this babe.  Em and I couldn't seem to catch a break every time we planned to get photos done.  Either it was rainy, her car wouldn't start, or whatever.  So, we ended up taking pics in 30 degree weather in the snow.  What can you do?  Enough talking...here they are.

 

Christmas

Right before Christmas Chris and I went to the Gaylord Hotel for a night.  We just wanted to get away from like for a bit and it was so nice!  The last time we were away at a hotel together, just the two of us, it was our honeymoon!  We were long overdue.

 

Our room was on the 17th floor....yikes.

 

We came back to my parent's house on Christmas Eve.  We got to help Lucy make a gingerbread house which was really fun (except her sticking two candies up her nose...).  Then, we opened gifts.  I suck at getting pictures during these things because I'm too busy enjoying myself! Christmas Eve evening was spent, as always, with the Demeria's!

I am SO proud of my little brother.  I really cannot believe that he is old enough to have graduated college, but alas here we are.

christmas photos

So I realize I haven't blogged in a while....okay, it's been like 6-7 months.  My bad!  I just thought I would share a little behind the scenes photos to piggyback on my sister's recent post about Christmas photos!  Lucy is a tough subject for photos.  Not only does she frown when you tell her to smile, turn around when you tell her to look at the camera, but when she actually looks at the camera she is just like her daddy and blinks 9/10 times! Now, I am no professional so maybe the pros are better at getting good photos...  Either way, enjoy some of these "bloopers" below.

But in all seriousness, Lucy truly is such a blessing to Chris and me.  We've had a rough go of it this fall and Lucy has helped to fill a void we have been feeling.  She always surprises us with her little comments and expressions and we absolutely love her!  Can't wait to meet her little sibling so soon.

A few happenings...

So, I am on the job hunt again.  I've currently applied to 18 schools in one county.  Geeeez...I am really crossing my fingers about being in Richmond next year.  After the past few weeks I have realized there is NO way I can do this commuting next year.  So, I'm just wishing, and hoping, and thinking, and praying and planning, and dreaming... (Name that song.)

Soooooooooooo, I've decided to take a break.  Chris and I don't have anything going on right now except me looking for a job AGAIN.  So, that's that.  I'll be back when I get a life! :)

2013 resolutions/goals

 
This year I have a lot of things I want to accomplish/complete.  Some are silly, but they need to get done!  So, I'm thinking that MAYBE if I write these down then I will actually accomplish all of these...so, here it goes!

ME Goals:

• Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables
• Get into somewhat decent shape by beginning a yoga routine (let's be honest, this will be the one to fall by the wayside, but I'm hopeful for at least this summer)
• FIND A JOB IN RICHMOND!!!
• Take Bauer for a walk everyday that I'm home during daylight hours (which is only the weekend until daylight savings)
• Blog more which leads into taking more photos.

HOUSE Goals:

• Refinish the cabinets in our master bathroom
• Recaulk bathrooms and repair all nail pops, etc. that we've ignored since our house settled...3 years ago...hehehe
• Finish the front room by actually putting pictures in the hanging frames and finally finding a chair
• Lay new flooring in front room/foyer (this may be 2014 since our dog has destructive nails)
• Tone down the bright green paint in the guest room for resale purposes. But, for the record I still LOVE the green.

WIFE Goals:

• Be a wife again by cooking dinner more than once a week. :)
• Take a weekend getaway with Chris (he doesn't know about this yet...)
• FIND A JOB IN RICHMOND!!! 

I have a few more personal goals and accomplishments for this year, but these are all I'm willing to share with the thousands of my blog followers. hahaha :)

Hahaha this sums up Bauer pretty perfectly. :)  He can drive me crazy, but he is probably the sweetest and most loving dog you've ever met!

christmas 2012

Christmas was so much fun this year.  It has been so nice to have time off around the holidays for the first time since I was in college.  Chris had to work Christmas Eve this year (AGAIN) :( so that was kind of a bummer.  But, we had 4 days of Christmas, so he was able to enjoy the other 3.  I also came down with a nasty virus as soon as I got out of school, but that didn't keep my Christmas spirit away!  Sunday was spent with Chris' mom, brother, sister-in-law, and Grandmother.  On Christmas Eve, I traveled up to Manassas with Bauer and we spent the day opening gifts with my family and then Christmas Eve night at my Uncle Danny's house (my favorite Christmas tradition).  Christmas Day was spent at Chris' Grandma's house so we could spend time with his cousin and aunt and uncle.  Then, finally on the 26th my parents came down and we opened more gifts at Em's house while Chris was there!

I will be so sad to take down my Christmas tree on the 1st.  It is definitely going to be tough getting back into the swing of things and going back to seeing Chris 1-2 days/week.  :(  Oh well, only 6 more months and then I get to enjoy all summer off!! YIPPEEEEE!!
