So, we are getting married in 77 days and I am getting SO excited! It is all going by so fast, and I'm trying not to wish the days away but I am soo ready to be Mrs. Kearney, finally!! :) There are plenty of things to keep me busy until the big day like dress fittings, hair trials, engagement pictures, bridal shower, BEACH, bachelorette party, etc. Whew, this will be a busy but fun two months!
Oh, and this adorable couple who were married a year ago...
ARE HAVING A BABYYY!!! I can't believe we are already at the point in our lives where people are getting married and now having babies! It seems like it was just yesterday that I was moving into my dorm room at Radford and now one of my best friends is having a baby. This is craziness, but I'm so excited for them and super excited to buy baby clothes (one of my favorite pasttimes) Congrats you guys! xoxo

Eurekaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!
I shot this in manual mode (I set the aperture and shutter speed; used auto focus). You may not realize what a huge feat this it, but it's pretty big to me! I am taking a photography class (I will post about that later in the week...) and I learned sooo much in the first class and am really excited!!

playboy.
So......we accidentally got our neighbor's Playboy in the mail today. The front is covered in black plastic, so when I saw it I figured it was one of our magazines and tore it open. Then I realized that there was a 75% naked woman on the front and looked at the address and realized it was, of course, not ours.
I am certainly not going to give it to him now that I have tore it open! "Hey neighbor, here is your magazine that came to my house accidentally and, oh yeah, IT'S A PLAYBOY AND IT LOOKS LIKE I READ IT." It would be embarrassing enough to give him the magazine if I didn't rip it open, but the thought of returning it now is completely unbearable!
So Chris and I made the decision to throw it away. And, I am going to choose to believe that Chris will not rummage through the trash tonight after I fall asleep.
After all, the Catholic Church would not approve viewing of such "pornographic images".
I also had a photography epiphany today (well, for me it was) that I will blog about tomorrow once I (hopefully) get our software downloaded!

lake anna.
For the past 8 years or so my friends and I have crashed Candice's family vacation at Lake Anna. It is always a week full of boating, boozing, tubing, and relaxing and it is sooo much fun! I wasn't able to go last year so I was glad to be able to get a couple of days off this year (barely).
Jim's new boat!
Big Jim raced me to the other side of the cove...obviously I won!
The rest of the Hutton family!
Blue eyed girlsss
Thanks again, Huttons for another fun year! I hope there are many to come!!!

dog days of summer.
Life goes on...
Saturday night my cousin and his fiance came to stay at our house because they had a bridal expo to go to on Sunday. They asked if it would be all right if they brought their dog, Max and we said of course! Bauer always welcomes a new friend! It was pretty funny how they played together. At first Bauer wanted NOTHING to do with him as he was playing with his ball, but after a while they got the hang of it and had fun (despite the size and strength difference, haha) :)

It is a little blurry, but I had to take what I could get while they were still for .00001 second!
Look how handsome your little man is, Sara!!

these days...
So, it was just brought to my attention that I'm a terrible blogger. I agree with this person 100%. Now that I look back I'm not sure why I thought I would enjoy talking about myself and my life so much. It's soooo not me. But, here I am, so why quit now I suppose...
I don't have any pictures to post because our software went kaput a couple of weeks ago and we have to get new software loaded which we have to get from Kelly...which is 25 min from our house...which with our insane schedule of too many funerals, work, wedding stuff, and summer activities is much harder than it may seem.
This past weekend Chris and I were invited to Bethany Beach with some of our friends and we really did have a great time. It was a greeeeat way to spend the 4th and a much needed 'getaway' from the realities of life for a few days! Bauer went to camp (kennel) for a couple of days where he got to play with him mom and brother and sister, so we like to think he realizes this fact and has a good time! He was definitely the dorky kid at camp this time because we had to bring his special food and baby carrots for his treats. hahahaha that was pretty funny. He had a "NO TREATS" sign on his kennel too...what a goofball, but we love him!
Unfortunately, we came back to absolutely tragic news yesterday. A girl, Amanda Brady, that grew up with Emily and I (Em's age) died in a boat crash on the Rappahanock River on the 4th of July. I was never close with Amanda and neither was Emily, yet Mom played volleyball with her mom and Amanda went to Round, Metz, Osbourn, Radford, and then moved to Richmond after graduating. So, although we were not close it seemed we lived parallel lives. This has hit me very hard and I'm not sure why. Maybe it is because I just laid 3 of my grandparents to rest in the past two months or maybe it's because I relate to Amanda's situation. She was to be married in a few weeks. Her invitations were probably out. Chris and I saw her and her fiance registering for china in Bed, Bath, and Beyond a couple of months back. Her fiance was on the boat and lived along with the rest of his family. It makes me sick to think about. I actually prayed for the first time last night in quite a few years. I prayed for strength. Mostly for her family, but also her friends and especially her best friend, Karly, and her fiance and his family. I prayed for peace. For them and for me. I feel a little manic and frantic lately. I hope things calm down. I feel like my 7 year old self again. Crying myself to sleep because I'm afraid Grandma will die, or Zach (old dog), or whomever...I guess we are all getting older and this is a part of life. I know you can't live your life being afraid everyday, but dammit, at times like this...it sure is hard.
