so excited.

This fall semester was supposed to be my "easy" semester...

NOT.

This semester is all but eating me alive!  Last Monday and Tuesday this was my schedule:

7:45 AM - 2:00 PM     Elementary School
2:20-5:15 PM               Work
5:30-8:30 PM               Class

AH!  It was quite insane and I was exhausted on Friday to say the least.  I have to spend another 30 hours in a classroom during a week in November, but I told my boss that I would be taking two days of vacation during that week.  There is just no was I could survive another week like last week!  It's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but I know it's there!  Only 9 full weeks left of work and then I'm off to student teaching for 12 weeks!  This spring will be c-ra-zy, but it's the final piece of the puzzle, and then I'll be busy applying for jobs. :)

fall fun.

This past weekend Em and Mark invited Chris and I (and Bridget and Sean) to go to the Chesterfield Berry Farm with them to have some fall fun with Lucy!  I looove fall and cheesy kid fun things to do so of course I was game.  Chris and I got to play with our new toy too - always a plus. :)

Lucy is seriously the cutest.  I just love her so much!

Farmer Lucy

She refuses to look at the camera all the time.

Lots of fun things to do next year when Lucy is older!

No, Mama I don't want to leave the bunnies.

Pig race - I love piggies!

Cutest in the patch - you got that right!

This is the ONLY picture I got of her looking at me.  Little brat!

Hubs with our pumpkin!

Such a sweet family :)

Bridget and Sean

Fun, fun day at the farm!

this dog...

What a character!

Such pretty brown eyes.

Peek-a-boo!

Chris will be home this weekend and I'm so excited to take the camera out for some fun! Lots of pictures to follow!

weekend happenings.

Well, I think this camera will definitely boost my blogging! Yay for all you stalkers! (Don't worry, I'm a stalker too...like, for reals.)

Anyway, as I mentioned before Chris was at work aaaaaall weekend.  He was supposed to work on Sunday, but was asked to trade to work Saturday so he did.  The good news is he will be off from Thursday through Monday this week! :)

I guess it was good he was out of the house this weekend because I had a pretty big paper to write.

It took me all weekend to write only 6 pages!

I don't think this had aaanything to do with it...

My name is Mallory Kearney and I'm addicted to Pinterest.

I'm just about o.v.e.r. this whole school thing.  Can you tell? ;)

Well, even though I was able to get some work done Bauer and I missed Chris!!  I had to play with Bauer a lot since he didn't get to go to the park this weekend.  (I don't go without Chris for multiple reasons.  One being that handing an 85 pound dog by myself is quite daunting.)

Staring intently at the toy laying at my feet.

My dog is cuter than yours.

He hides at the back of the yard if he thinks I'm going to go inside.  AND as shown in this picture, laughs.

Oh, hi big boy!

Somebody doesn't like to share...

Out of all the toys he has outside he insists on playing with the one with the giant hole in it.  I swear he has nicer toys!

So that's how Bauer and I spent our weekend.  I'm looking forward to hubby coming home tomorrow!  And, although this week will be filled with lots of work and homework it is one week closer to this semester being overrr!

Toodles, friends.

sunday morning

A little early morning play time with Bauer.  We're really missing Daddy this weekend!

say cheese!

I am very excited for this post and definitely did not think it would be here as soon as it is!  Chris and I decided that the time was right to purchase a new camera and I. love. it. so. freaking. much.

Seriously, it is sooo much easier to use than our other camera and I can actually get the pictures that I envision!  Our other camera was an Olympus which is known to be difficult to use in poor lighting situations. (Which is the case the majority of the time you use a camera!) So, having our new Canon is going to be a lot of fun.

I'm supposed to be writing a paper right now, but instead I played with the camera a bit...

Our new camera!

What a good little model.  Look at those widdle wips.

Don't be fooled...bribery was involved in Bauer's good posture.  What's that bright orange thing you ask?

Why that's Bauer's treat of course, baby carrots! He loooves baby carrots.

MOM, no more pictures, pleeeease!!

Ok, fine. Here are my best puppy dog eyes.

Now I'm really done.

Chris is working all weekend, so I am stuck with minimal models.  Therefore, my Pepsi can will have to do.

Ok, I lied. One more picture of my sweet puppy. :)

I have to thank my awesome hubby for working so hard on side jobs.  He is the reason we were able to splurge on this camera.  What a guy!

stripping

This past weekend Chris and I spent part of our anniversary doing the romantic thing we could think of...stripping.

THE DRESSER, PEOPLEEEE!!

Ok, sorry. I just couldn't resist that one. :)

We only finished the drawers, but it was really easy! We aren't being meticulous about the process, because we plan on painting the dresser white. I just wanted to strip most of the pink off because I will probably want to distress the dresser after it is painted, and I would rather wood show through than baby pink!

Good byeeee pink dresser!

Chris liked this stuff because he said it smelled like candy! It is an orange goo - very easy to apply!

The "goo" in action!

We still have to wash them down and then do the body of the dresser, but we hope to have it done by Christmas! :) Stay tuned...

oh happy day.

Today is Chris and my first anniversary and it has been a crazy first year of marriage!  Chris was hired by Chesterfield County, went through recruit school, graduated, and is now working 24 hour shifts; my cousin, Robby, moved in for a few months; I completed six classes toward my teaching license while maintaining 40 hours a week; our first niece was born; we/I attended four wedding of friends and family getting married; and so much more!

Below is a video that our photographer put together and it is so fun to watch one year later.

Thank you to all of our family and friends for your support during our first year!  We are looking forward to many many more to come!

M.I.A.

I just want to apologize for being MIA lately! I am taking 3 classes this semester, and although this was supposed to be my easy semester I have been b. u. s. y.  I have been doing homework every night and sometimes even in the mornings before work.  Needless to say, all this go, go, go has made for one sick girl. :(  On Sunday I thought my allergies were bothering me, but by Monday night it was a full on cold.  Dangit.  I was hoping to get through the fall without getting sick! Oh well, better now than this spring during student teaching!

Speaking of which, this fall I will be in the classroom for 60 hours total.  30 of those hours will be in a 2nd grade classroom (yay!!) and the other 30 will be in a 4th grade classroom...I'm trying to get experience in many different grade levels to make myself more marketable next fall.  Maybe I will love 4th grade?  All I know is that fractions scare the crap out of me, so that 30 hours will be interesting!

No pictures for this post!  Chris and I are looking into purchasing a new camera.  We really shouldn't spend our money on a camera right now, but I think we both just need to do it. Chris needs something to keep him company with me working so much and doing so much homework. :) We'll see, stay tuned!
