weekend festivities.

Once again, the weekend has gone by waaaay too fast!  But it was a great weekend while it lasted :)  A little recap is below.

Friday:
Mom and Dad were generous enough to get tickets to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert a month or so ago.  So, Friday Mom, Dad, and Greg, drove to Richmond to go to the concert.  We were all looking forward to a little Christmas music.  The concert was awesome for the most part, with the exception of a few weird 80's rock songs (they are coming out with a 'regular' music CD so they were previewing their songs...).  But the Christmas songs were EXCELLENT!  A few pics below...

The light show was just as good as the music!

Creep-o on the right pointed out into the crowd at one point and Mom screams "HE POINTED AT ME!!!"

Thanks Mom and Dad for taking us out!  It was awesome!! xoxo

Saturday:
When Chris was growing up his Grandma and Grandpa used to collect Departement 56 village pieces.  Over the years she has collected hundreds of houses, people, and accessories.  When Chris' Grandpa got sick she had stopped setting it all up because it was quite the process!  Now, she has a special cabinet up in her house where she keeps a little display year-around.  When Chris was young his favorite village they collected was the Dickens Village and Grandma was kind enough to pass them onto him.  We had talked about putting up a 'small' display this year, so we went to her house to pick up the boxes.

There were a FEW more than expected...we barely fit them all into our car!  We started setting some up, but still have to do the details when we decorate for Christmas next Saturday :)

 They really are quite beautiful!

I think this display will be my favorite when we are done!

Sunday:
Redskins win - yahoo!!

And, Bauer got his Christmas present early...now we just have to convince him that this bed is much better than OUR bed!

3 days of work then Thanksgiving!!  Unfortunately both Chris and I have to work on Friday :(

See you!

  1. The village is going to look great there. Can't wait to see it all up. I am sure it is bringing back great memories for Chris. He could spend hours and hours staring at it when he was little. Now I want to get mine out of the attic and put it up.
