Monument 10k

Chris is running in the Monument 10k in Richmond this weekend!  Just two months ago he was preparing for recruit school by running one mile.  Now, he runs 3 miles 3x a week and is running his first 10k with five of his classmates.  I'm so proud of him!

Unfortunately the race landed on the same day as Emily's baby shower this year, so I won't be able to see him run his first race.  :o(  But, I know he will do well and I think you can buy a picture of yourself finishing the race, so maybe we'll have to do that!

His classmates had shirts made for the race with their class motto:
